A windows VPS is similar to a linux VPS in pretty much only one respect - it is a virtual dedicated server (a division of a physical server, acting like its own dedicated server). However, the windows operating system is very different to that of linux. It's useful for a regular home user who is used to the windows operating system. The main method of connecting to your VPS is using Remote Desktop Connection (which comes as standard on windows PCs) and allows you to visually manage your VPS. It does exactly what it says on the name, you can remotely see the actual Desktop of the VPS, just like it's your own PC. A windows VPS is typically used for when you need to run software or programs that can only run on windows - it's not the best operating system for a hosting platform but with specific software you can use it for that as well. Our windows VPS are setup within 48 hours of your order.All the plans on these page are 64-Bit Windows 2003 Server Enterprise running, Virtuozzo based VPS.
